Airport Diaries I

I have a thing for Airports like mcdreamy [grey's anatomy] has a thing for ferry boats. I love airports even though I have never been on an airplane. I have been there to receive and see off people and that's that. Airport Diaries is a fictional one shot I will be writing. Hope my very first attempt at fiction doesn't disappoint (:

Airport Diaries I

Natasha was at the airport waiting for her fiance. His flight was some two hours late and she decided to catch up on the latest book she had been reading. She was dressed in a casual kurta and jeans with some kohl in her eyes. She always preferred comfort over style. With her nerd glasses on, she was totally engrossed in the book. And she sensed somebody sitting right next to her. She looked at the gentleman and smiled politely. This gentleman was dressed in his black suit and pants, he had this clean shaven face and dimples. He met all the criteria of  a  mills and boon hero ; tall , dark and handsome. Natasha unlike herself constantly gazed at him.The uncomfortable air around her suddenly came to a rest when he gently introduced himself. "Ayush" he said."Natasha" she smiled again. "That is an amazing book. You should read others by the same author." he further said. "Uhmm, yeah I like it so far. " she said . With that ,the two started conversing. "I am here to receive my fiance, we got engaged last month" he said with a happy smile. "Mee too." Natasha jumped and wondered at the co incidence. Her train of thoughts shifted to how his fiance would be. She imagined a tall and slim figure with the most amazing clothes and an electrifying smile. She smiled at the thought. Natasha wasn't ever conscious of how she looked. She knew she had her imperfections but she loved her self like she was. Sameer was an amazing boy friend, now fiance. She was sure of the happy life she had ahead of her. "Those are beautiful." she pointed towards the bouquet of flowers Ayush had by his seat. "My fiance loves them." he said. "Great." she said. "Mind me asking? But aren't you a little overdressed for someone who has come to receive somebody at the airport" she casuallyy asked. "Yeah, totally. But I had this urgent meeting at the office and then I had to rush here directly only to wait for two hours" he chuckled and Natasha joined. "She is very lucky. I can't imagine Sameer ever leaving an urgent meeting just to pick me up from the airport." Natasha said . It was true Sameer loved her but he wasn't the kind to miss meetings and important office work to hang around with his girlfriend and Natasha never expected him to do so. She saw Ayush fiddling with some words and then finally saying "Yeah, very. I like to give these small surprises even if it means half of the airport making fun of my clothes." he said. "Oh!! They are not making fun of you. Trust me, the girls are ogling at how good looking you are and the guys are just jealous." She pointed out. "I will take that as a compliment. " he smiled. "That was supposed to be a compliment." she said. They continued talking about their fiances and how their life has been. Natasha was glad she had company for two hours, the book totally forgotten. She liked Ayush instantly. He was chivalrous when he asked her for a coffee before getting himself one. He was sensitive and very polite. Then he was all boyish with his enthusiasm towards cricket.

Soon there was an announcement of the flight arriving and the two dispatched to look for their respective fiances.Natasha spotted Sameer immediately. They gave each other a hug and Natasha quickly grabbed the chocolates he had brought for her. They were near the parking lot when Natasha saw Ayush again. She approached him and introduced Sameer to him. "So where is she?" she asked. Soon she saw a man nearing them. He was dressed cassually in jeans t shirt. He was equally good looking with his manly structure as Ayush if not better. "Natasha, meet my fiance Gaurav." he said. Ayush smiled a knowing smile and hugged her good bye. Natasha was flabbergasted. She wished the two a happy married life and said her goodbyes. Natasha had smiled at this memory months later as well. She was glad to have known a couple like Ayush and Gaurav's.

For the love of October

I am a huge October - lover. When I was young I would say February was my favourite month because my birthday falls in February. But now, it has to be October. Octobers in Delhi have the near perfect weather. Not too chilly and not too hot. The mild breezes and the pleasant weather is a true winner. Also, the festivities start to kick in. Everything is reallyy happy and nice. I have had amazing days in October when I was in school, then there are mid semester breaks in college. :D. October comes with loads of outings. Personally, i have this notion that everything becomes okay in October. So this one is my love for October :)

Relatable

This post has all the quotes from movies, tv shows and otherwise that I can relate to or that inspire me.

Grey's Anatomy is like the best thing happened to me. I love Grey's so much. I fangirl on greys the entire day. I can not wait for the season premiere on 26 th of this month. Grey's has soo many quotes that inspire me.

Meredith 's Grey's  "We can be extra ordinary together rather than being ordinary apart".
This one she says to the love of her life. I totally think if two people are in love with each other, they should be together and put themselves as well others out of their miseries.

Izzie Stevens : "Just because people do horrible things , it doesn't always mean they are horrible people". Everybody has flaws in them, some have more prominent than others. One horrible mistake can not determine the kind of persons they are.

Calliope Torres'  "You didn't love her, you just didn't want to be alone. Or maybe she was too good for your ego. Or maybe she  made you feel better about your miserable life , but you didn't love her ,because you don't destroy the people you love."
For all those who take people for granted. people who deserve to be cherished.

Derek Shephard's "I want to marry you. I want to have kids with you. I want to build us a house. I want to settle down and grow old with you. I want to die when I'm 110 years old in your arms. I don't want 48 uniterrupted hours. I want a lifetime."
What does a girl need more. This is why the world knows him as mcdreammyy.

Meredith Grey voiceover "Did you say it? I love you, i don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life. Did you say it? Make  a plan. Set a goal. Work towards it, but every now and then , look around. Drink it in, cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

I love the American show One Tree Hill. I started watching the show last year and I am hooked onto it since then. I love Haley James Scott. She inspires me soo much. She is one person who never tried to change herself. She was herself even when she didn't fit in.

"Sometimes I feel incredibly disconnected. Really uncomfortable in my own skin. Or kind of like I don't fit into the world. Like I was born at the wrong time and I don't Belong." -Haley James Scott. When I watched her say these lines I almost jumped up the couch. I soo relate to these lines. I was like that is me. I sometimes feel soo disconnected with everything as if I have no business doing what i am doing, being where I am..  There is this constant prick at the back of the head which tells me that i don't belong. I think in the end I will find a place where I will belong just like haley did.

"Shared joy, not compassion, makes a friend." - Friedrich Nietzche

"Sometimes you put it down on paper and your mind is still not released. And, sometimes you put it down on paper exactly because deep down you do not wish to be released. " - Virginia Woolf

"Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go. " -Michael Josephson

"I guess that's the beauty of books. When they finish they don't really finish" - Markus Zusak

"My Dentist once told me that letting go is like pulling a tooth. When it was pulled out, you're relieved , but how many times does your tongue run itself over the spot where the tooth once was? Probably a hundred times a day.Just because it wasn't hurting you doesn't mean you did not notice it. It leaves a gap and sometimes you see yourself missing it terribly. It is going to take a while. Should you have kept the tooth? No because it was causing you so much pain. Therefore, move on and let go." -Unknown

I will keep editing this list as well (:

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai..Tum Nahi Samjhoge

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is the movie of my childhood. I still remember, I was in UKG[Upper Kindergarten] and my parents took me from school to watch the movie. Being a sucker for romance, this movie has never failed to disinterest me.Anytime any channel airs it, I end up watching it till the end. I am a huge Kajol fan and she is at her natural best in this movie. This post is about that one scene in the movie which according to me is epic. Everytime I watch this scence, it reminds me of the bonding and friendships we share through the course of life and how these friendships and bonds sometimes fail the test of times.

This is right after Rahul and Tina get together and Anjali faces the first heartbreak of her life. Anjali decides to leave Rahul, Tina and her college for good and she does that sneakily. Without informing anybody for, she knows Rahul can stop her. Anjali is not your regular girl, she hates to dress up and the boyys don't make her heart flutter. Yet, when she falls in love for the first time, with her best friend and gets her heartbroken..she cries just like any other girl would. Kudos to Kajol for portraying such a scene with finesse .I love how Rahul who is shattered tries to rebuke her and tries to make light of the situation and yet everybody knows he doesn't want his best friend to leave him. He tries to convince her and when she doesn't budge, he gets off the train, doesn't look at her and is super angryy. The moment he hears the train leaving, we see his world disappearing in front of his eyes. We see two best friends and the distance between them increasing gradually. I bawl my eyes every time I watch this scene.

The feeling of seeing you loved ones move out of your life right in front of you is the worst.

Songs of my life.

My blog, I wanted to post something that is me. Something that defines me. What better than my choice of songs. Music has always been a very important part of me. I don't think I can ever do without music and my playlist.

Today, I have bugged my repeat button hearing Bill Wither's Ain't no Sunshine. I totallyy love this song. His voice and the little music playing in the background plus the lyrics. This song is magical. It explains absenteeism of a loved one soo clearly. "Its not warm when she's away.." is one hell of a line. Kudos to Bill Withers for singing a song that rings a bell in every heart.

Next on the list is Michael Jackson's Will you be there. This is the song that i am currently listening and it brightens up my mood. The "hmmm" is soo soothing to the ears. Plus an MJ song is always wonderful to hear. I heard the song for the very first time in my dance class when we were to dance a routine on this song. It is such a kind song and the line "its okay to be unfaithful, you're only human" says everything about the singer and gives us a little hope to come back always.

The Hindi song Chukar Mere Mann Ko from the movie Yaarana is amazing. It just touches you. The song is for all the people who have made it to your heart, who have been able to get to you in one way or the other. How someone just comes and takes your heart away, changes your life for good. Love it!!

Ek Me Aur Ek Tuu's Aahatein is a magical song. It again is a song about absenteeism. "Sab kuch wahi hai, par kuch kamii hai. Teri aahatein nahi hai." (everything is the same, yet something is missing. Your footsteps aren't there).

Ordinary People By john Legend:  I loooove this song. This one is about a conjugal relationship where the singer has a hope of reconciling with the partner after every littte fight or misunderstandings just like every other time. The lyrics explain relationships and their complexities to the T. "Though love sometimes hurt,  I still put you first and we'll make this work. But I think we should take it sloww".

Jhankar beats Tu Ashiqui hai. A token of love to your lover.

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. I love this song soo much. It brings a smile to my face everytime I hear it so much so that I am contemplating having a tattoo of the song name. The song is about a passionate love and how much ever you chase it you can't probably have it.

I will keep ediitng the list.
